Top 4 Reasons to Consider Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kits for Your 65-72 Ford F100 Truck

Fords have always had a loyal following, but for a variety of reasons, we see increased interest in restoring 1965 – 1972 era F100 trucks. There is an abundant supply of spare parts for these vehicles and the selling prices at auctions, and the car corrals are reasonable.

If you are lucky enough to own one of these workhorse classics, you may be tempted to buy used brake parts during restoration, but let’s be honest—trucks are heavier than their sedan counterparts, and the original drum brakes found on older F100’s aren’t well-suited for today’s driving conditions.  Instead of going the salvage route, consider a disc brake conversion kit from Master Power Brakes.

Why would I convert my F100 Truck from drum to disc brakes?

You want to stay true to the essence of your F100, and rightly so. By converting from disc to drum brakes, you can maintain the integrity of your classic vehicle but also upgrade it to modern standards of safety and performance. In short, it offers you the best of both worlds.

Top 4 Reasons to Consider Ford F100 Drum to Disc Conversion Kits

There are a number of reasons to consider Ford F100 drum to disc conversion kits from Master Power Brakes.

1. Our conversion kit is the first on the market specifically designed for F-100 trucks manufactured between 1965 and 1972.

2. Our new and improved kits use the OEM drum brake spindles.

Previously, we included a spindle from a later application but, our new and improved kits use the original equipment brake drum spindles, so you won’t need to pull the kingpins during installation, saving you a tremendous amount of time and aggravation.

3. We built our own rotor that utilizes an aluminum center hub section with a conventional rotor ring bolted to the outside.

This allows us to keep the track width the same as OEM specifications along with moving things away from the suspension, allowing adequate clearance between the braking and suspension components. This cannot be done using an existing conventional rotor.

4. All of our kits are a bolt-on solution, making installation a breeze.

A drum to disc conversion kit for your F100 will improve your braking performance, keeping you and your classic truck safe while on the road.
